How should I prepare my vehicle and workspace before you arrive?
To ensure a professional finish, please ensure the vehicle is parked on level ground with sufficient clearance for a mobile van. The workspace must be clear of obstructions and reasonably clean. We require access to a power source and water within 20 metres of the vehicle to facilitate our technical equipment across Yorkshire sites.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable for mobile detailing?
Mobile detailing is dependent on environmental conditions. If precipitation or high winds are forecast, a dry and sheltered area such as a large garage or carport may be required to maintain technical standards. Please ensure suitable arrangements are discussed in advance to determine if the site is appropriate for work during inclement weather.
What is the difference between paint correction and ceramic coating?
Paint correction is a restorative mechanical process that uses abrasive compounds to remove surface defects, such as swirls and scratches, from the clear coat. Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to the vehicle's paint, providing a durable semi-permanent layer of protection and enhancing surface gloss. Correction prepares the surface, while coating protects it.
What aftercare is recommended following paint correction or ceramic coating?
To maintain the integrity of the finish, we recommend regular contact-less pre-washing followed by the two-bucket wash method using pH-neutral automotive shampoo. Avoid automated car washes and harsh chemicals which can degrade the protective layer. Utilising high-quality microfibre drying towels will prevent surface marring, ensuring the vehicle remains in premium condition across the varied Yorkshire climate.

How does ceramic coating protect against UV damage?

Is water beading a reliable indicator of coating quality?
Yes, water beading is a key diagnostic tool. A high-quality ceramic coating creates a hydrophobic surface that causes water to bead and roll off the paint. This is a primary indicator of the coating's ability to repel contaminants.
What is the recommended frequency for maintenance washes?
For optimal protection, we recommend a maintenance wash every 2-3 weeks. This removes surface contaminants and prevents the build-up of dirt that can compromise the coating's protective integrity.
How does water temperature affect the coating?
Extreme cold water can cause the molecular structure of the coating to contract, potentially leading to micro-cracking. We recommend using lukewarm water for all washes to maintain the chemical stability of the protective layer.
