Photography and Media Policy

How we use service photographs and optional promotional images.

Last updated: 9 August 2026

1. Operational photographs

As part of the detailing service, we may take reasonable photographs or video where needed to record vehicle condition, service access, progress, completed work or an incident. This helps us perform the service, maintain quality records and deal with complaints or insurance matters.

Where practical, we avoid capturing people, house numbers, documents or unrelated property that is not needed for the service record.

2. Operational images are not automatic marketing permission

Accepting our Booking and Service Terms does not give us blanket permission to use your vehicle photographs in advertising. Promotional use is optional and is kept separate from the booking contract.

3. Optional promotional consent

If we want to use customer vehicle images for our website, portfolio, social media or advertising, we use a separate optional choice. Refusing marketing use does not affect your booking or the price you pay.

Suggested optional website wording:

“I agree that [BUSINESS NAME] may use selected before-and-after images of my vehicle for its website and social-media marketing. [REGISTRATION PLATE WILL BE BLURRED / MAY REMAIN VISIBLE ONLY IF I SEPARATELY AGREE]. Identifiable location details will not be shown unless I separately agree. This choice is optional and I can withdraw consent for future use by contacting [EMAIL].”

4. Registration plates and location details

Our default position is [BLUR / DO NOT SHOW] vehicle registration plates in promotional content and to avoid identifiable home or work addresses. If you want to use visible registration plates or identifiable location details, add a separate clear choice rather than relying on general marketing consent.

5. Testimonials

A written testimonial or customer name should be handled separately from vehicle-image consent. Do not publish a customer’s full name, handle, photograph or other identifying detail unless you have a proper legal basis and the customer understands the intended use.

6. Withdrawing promotional consent

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it for future use by contacting [EMAIL]. We will stop new use within a reasonable period and remove content under our control where reasonably practicable. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful use unlawful and cannot always remove copies already shared by third parties.

7. Storage and sharing

Operational and promotional images are stored and shared as described in our Privacy Policy. Operational images are kept for [PERIOD] unless they are needed for a complaint, insurance matter or legal claim. Promotional images are kept for [PERIOD / UNTIL CONSENT IS WITHDRAWN OR CONTENT IS RETIRED].
